Plymouth 2's retained top spot in the premier 2nd eleven league with a comprehensive win against Cornwood 2's.
Having won the toss Plymouth elected to bat on a good hard Mount Wise Track and this paid off as openrs Ben Stein and Harry Stephenson scored runs quickly for a great opening start.
After 2 succssesive wickets seeing both openers heading back to the pavillion Jake Luffman and Rob Button carried on the good work scoring runs with ease, with Button departing the crease on 45. Luffman batted superbly for his 90 not giving a chance. Sam Stein came in with a cameo 23 giving Plymouth an impresive 304-8.
What seems to be great this year is that the players have seemed to have stepped up a gear in the field and bowling department adding a killer instinct to the team.
Sam Stein bowled superbly taking 3 wickets for 16 runs off ten overs - that included him being hit for 9 off his last over.
All bowlers contributed with the win bowling great lines Jack Hughes, Rob Button and Martin Gill taking 2 wickets a piece with Harry Barnes taking 1 wicket.
A great all round performance guys - lets take this winning form into Saturdays game where we face BOVEY TRACEY who currently lie 2nd in the league - a win on Saturday will all ready give us a gap between the other runners.
