Of the games played so far:
Plymouth 283-5, Plymstock 221
Plymouth 245-9 v 278-7
Plymouth 278-6 v 277-4
Plymouth 275-5 v 278-3
A run laden preseason thus far.....
Pretty quick half centuries for Keith (75) and George (72) v Plymstock (50 odd balls each) along with more sedate efforts from Harry Stephenson (50) and Hadders (49) saw Plymouth to 283.
More runs in the intra-club game - Harry Kandampully 65 retired, Rob Button 40 odd, Hooper a quick 45 and Sam Stein 62 of under 30 balls were then matched by Ben Stein 102 retired and a few of 20s and 30s (including Pavi!!!) as the side batting second successfully chased an extended target of 275.
So far so good. The bowling has probably been a little short (preseason indoor length perhaps) and lacking in sideways movement but there has been some good hitting (and a few dropped catches).
Another run fest in the 40 over game on Monday game won by Watson's team by one run. More runs for Ben stein and half centuries for harry Barnes, Jon varcoe and foley. Tough for boilers.
It all goes up a level next week with 1sts and 2nds (minus a couple of injuries and Dougie who arrives the day after) - see you there!
And even more runs in the last warm up. Century for monks, another 88 for Ben stein, 80 for Keith and 60s for rob button and George. Most of them at above a run a ball. Decent bowling from kev and Sam stein. There has been an odd feeling to preseason with the ball flying everywhere but perhaps a change in the weather and the tiflex ball might change that.
