U13s crash out of the cup.

Save to del.icio.us
Yelverton turned up at Mt. Wise, with a very strong team eager to avenge their one run loss to us in the league earlier in the season. They batted well and our bowling was good early keeping them to 28 - 0 after 8 overs. The bowling then fell apart as Yelverton went on the attack and ended up with 113 for 3 wickets. Stevie took the only wicket, the others were run outs. but none of the bowlers did well enough to warrant their figures being recorded here. I still thought we could get them but with Stevie run out for a ruby duck and Harrison and Nick quickly following to leave us at 13 for 3, i was having major doubts. Claire and Barney took the score to 43 before Claire ran herself out for a good 20. Jono came in and started striking the ball well ,looking more like the old Jono but as the score reached 70 he skied one and was well caught for 13. Jack was run out in a mix up at 86 and then Barney hoiked across the line to be bowled for a good 31 and so we perished. Travis revived some hope with a drive for 4. but it was a dead cat bounce and we finished all out for 99. Only 14 runs we did not bowl well and gave them 28 extras and we only had 10 players,4 away so if the temperature had not fallen thanks to the sea mist we could have won and so it goes on. Well done Yelverton we have gone out in the first round three times now always getting hard ties!
