PCC comfortable beat a slightly weakened Exeter side - Alex Hill proving to be the star of the show.
Exeter put PCC in on what was thought to be a bouncy track.
A run out accounted for the first wicket however with Tom, again, fielding very well to dismiss Cameron Grainger for 8.
Captain and "Top of the batting Pops" Richard Nelsey hit Phil for 4 befoe being bowled next ball and with Steve Easterbrook bowled for 7 and Adam Fradgley bowled for 5, Exeter found themselves at 49-4.
Ben Robins bowled well at the other end and when he was replaced by Gilly, Pat Steward fell LBW for 0. Pavi took from Phil and immediately struck by having Pete Hensor caught behind for 13....72-7.
Exeter battled on with opener Shaun Langford playing the anchor role (and very well too) as Adam Smith saw the demand and duly supplied some well needed runs.
Ben came back for his second spell and dismissed both batsmen together with No. 9 Theo Thompson. Ben Ferrao ran out Steve Milne in between and Exeter were dimissed for 153.
Phil Stephenson's season continued to tail off as he was dismissed for 0 and Dave watson was bowled by Pete Hensor for 24 when looking well set.
That was the last wicket however, as Ben and Alex Hill (with a combined age less than me for goodness sake) put on an unbeaten 110 for the 3rd wicket.
Well played to both against an admittedly weaker than usual attack b ut it's nice to get used to batting for a long time. I don't think this is the last time Alex will make runs for the IIs............
A very enjoyable season - a few ups and downs and a big thank you Damian for your scorecards - no hieroglyphics and never a missing run.
