Still winning!!

Once again the 3rd's,with another young side,thrashed the opposition hardly raising sweat!!
As usual Abbo lost the toss and Barton put Plymouth in. The Plymouth batsmen wanted to bat first anyway after last weeks odd decision by Axminster to bat first. However the track was quite green and it looked like it might do a bit.
Ben Stein and Passi opened and put on a solid opening partnership before Passi chipped one to mid wicket for a very good 42 - he seems to be able to bat in any position!!
Alex Hill took over but was not his fluent self & both he & Ben found it hard to accelerate the run rate and when Ben was out for 30 so did Harry......he looked like a fish out of water against some tight spin bowling.
After Harry was out, the run rate needed to go up and Jake Folley was intent on doing just that but got a good ball. Andy Sewell,not opening for a change (!!), managed to up the run rate, particularly off the medium pacer with 2 consecutive sixes. Alex stuck to his task & made a solid 50 & Plymouth made 206 - this was a par score & would have been higher if the outfield had not been so wet at the start.

Barton were never in it with both Ben Robins & Danuka demolishing the top order - the highlight being a catch by Nigel Hughes off the leg of Andy Sewell at silly mid on!! Ben did also hit the timbers with a 'bouncer' that the batsman somehow managed to duck under!! Ben did finished with 6 wickets but he will bowl better & get less return.
Once again a great performance by everyone and maintains our 3rd place position. 2 games to go - keep it going boys!!
