With the help of the mighty mouse aka Rob Button the 4ths cruised to victory

The day started badly one player did not arrive and was due to take half the team (we have since learnt that he was in hospital having had a car crash, I know what you are saying that is not a reasonable excuse). In his place scorer Jack stepped up to the plate and put in a fine fielding performance.
Yet again the incompetent 4ths captain lost the toss and his team was asked to bat. The wicket was a proper pudding although with small boundaries he felt a total in excess of 200 was needed. The Plymouth openers made steady progress before Will Matthews gave the slips some catching practice for 12. Joe Cunningham continued with his innings but at times looked like bambi on ice slipping around in his eagerness to take quick singles. He fell on 21 but had been joined by the mighty mouse who warmed up with a few boundaries. Joe Barlow entrered the fold but was ran out when turned back by the 'mouse;. In trying to make his ground he fell to the floor like an elephant shot by a sniper.
With the damp wicket team mates feared that fairweather Button would yet again fall early but he proved us all wrong making 151 not out. The innings was top class he offered no chances, this was his first senior century (well done!). The mouse was ably supported by Mr Bean aka Mike Hope who made 47 before he fell to a 11 year old midget (who was infact Whitchurch's best bowler). With Rob hogging the batting no other players made a real contribution and we finished on 272 - 7.
In reply Whitchurch made a steady start and after the fall of the first wicket it looked like they would match a match of it but with Joe Barlow taking 3 wickets despite his sore shins (couldn't do enough for his captain) and yes the mouse was back also taking three wickets despite being let down by Captain the juggler Barnes.
Whitchurch were bowled out for 60 well nine off them were one player left the ground telling his captain he was going to get his pads and never returned.
