Plymouth Peverell skittle Tideford Hawks out for only 3.
Plymouth Peverell made it three wins for the week when they played Tideford Hawks at Mount Wise on 23.07.09. Plymouth Peverell won the toss and decided to bat against Tideford who only had eight players. But Tideford bowled straight and fielded well to restrict Plymouth to 172- 7 in their alloted overs. Will Matthews top scored for Plymouth with a smooth 42 before he was unluckily run out with a direct hit from close to the boundary. Pick of the Tideford bowlers were Watts 4 - 0 - 33 - 2 and Linfield 4 - 0- 28 - 2.
Plymouth took the field and bowled and fielded aggressively from the start but even they could not have dreamt that the Tideford innings would have ended in 4.1 overs but that is what happened with Tideford all out for 3. The only Plymouth bowlers were Jordan Han*censored* 2- 2 - 0 - 2 and Pavi Mawalage 2.1 - 1 - 1 - 4, giving Plymouth a win by 169 runs.
Surely this must be a league reecord!
We are in with a good shout of securing the league title on Monday at Tavistock.
