Plymouth 4ths thump Roborough by nine wickets
Plymouth won the toss and asked Roborough to bat on a what looked like an unpredictable wicket and the opening delivery of the match whistled over the openers head but then flattened out and played reasonably well.
All of the Plymouth bowlers well Richard GILL only conceding one scoring shot in his opening six overs but the fielding did not match their efforts. As in other matches we had dropped catches, misfields, others not running after the bowl and Rob BUTTON even managed to kick the ball over the boundary. Roborough scored 126 - 8 which was thirty runs more than they should have scored had the fielding not been so charitable. Although is does make for a lengthy fines hearing. The leading wickets takers were Rob BUTTON 12- 4 - 45 - 4 and Harry BARNES 9 - 2 - 16 - 2.
In reply the two openers made over 100 for the first wicket Harry Barnes out on 62 (his first senior fifty). Joe CUNNINGHAM was joined at wicket by Rob BUTTON and saw out the innings Joe finishing unbeaten on 38.
A good win at a diifficult venue, another nineteen points in the bank and the league leaders are starting to look over their shoulders.
