IIs enter danger zone with another loss...

A six wicket loss has sent PCC IIs into the relegation battle - South Devon bt Budleigh yesterday...........We play both North Devon and South Devon in consecutive weeks at home - we must beat them both.

Exeter won the toss and elected to field.

Two very odd decisions went against PCC after Jake and Wilko put on 52 for the first wicket - Jake was given LBW following the most half hearted of appeals when loking set on 28 and Phil Stephenson went LBW as well, for 0.

Wilko went LBW to a uncontroversial decision - Wilko played back to Legodi for 14 to leave PCC on the back foot at 58-3.

Quiche and George played very well and put on 50 - George playing some beautiful drives - until George was caught behind to the first ball after drinks, to the spinner Street. Andy made 12 before playing too expansively to the unusual bowling action of Bostock who bowled well to take 4-28 off 13 odd overs. Quiche yorked himself for 39 which was a shame as he was beginnig to strike the ball well. 152-6.

The end wasn't far away as Auto went for 7, Ben and Gilly for 0 and Tom, stumped for 11 to leave Exeter chasing 177 for victory off 53 overs.

A fantastic start saw Exeter 1-2 - Ben having Pring caught by Andy in the slips and Phil having Langford caught behind.

Street was LBW to ben for 5 and Exeter were reeling at 20-3.

Ben bowled his best spell of the summer 6-0-17-2 as he found the perfect length to beat the bat consistently. Phil continued to find swing and bowled economically without finding the wickets. Parkin and Medway battled and battled, playing very well as PCC strugled for a breakthrough Steve found no rythymn in his 3 overs and nor did Jake, their 6 overs going for 48 runs. Steve though, was unlucky to see Andy fail to take a catch over head height.

Chances were few and far between however - a missed stumping by Phil and a very sharp caught and bowled chance by Gilly showed how well Exeter were batting. Andy came on made the breakthrough with his 7th ball but the end was nigh and PCC lost again.

No game next week and then the BIG games - Abbo's guys are doing fantastically - let's not embarass ourselves anymore.

Gilly took over from Phil
