Plymouth Cricket Club playing in a friendly environment

missed opportunity

Save to del.icio.us
Poor attitude with the bat costs first eleven.

A fantastic start to our season saw Twigs win the toss and burkey and eggs bowl fantastic late swing to demolish budleigh's top, middle and lower order, taking 9 wickets between them. Our fielding was as good as i have ever seen, great catches from pd especially and great ground fielding all round saw us bowl the oppo out for 86.

We all had a clear message of how to go about getting that total, keep wickets in hand, rotate the strike and don't give them a sniff. From 17-0 to 18-3 budleigh smelt blood.

We simply seem to shut up shop and just couldn't get the ball away for singles let alone to the rope.A few poor shots in the middle( myself at the top of that list) and we were blown away.

The attitude to our chase cost us not our ability. We are good enough to play at this level but need to learn fast to improve our batting.

Sidmouth this saturday seems like a perfect place to start.

Mate, You've been completely outshone in the elequence dept by Vic. Have you read his report? Thought it was lifted out of the Telegraph back pages!
Shame about the batting
