Plymouth Cricket Club are looking to arrange for more members to become qualified coaches to assist with the continued growth and success of the Junior section of the club.
Members can take either UKCC1 (assistant coach) or UKCC2 (club coach) courses run by the Devon Cricket Board. You do not require a UKCC1 certificate to take the UKCC2 course but need to be of a playing standard of 3rd team (seniors) or above and have some coaching experience.
If the club was to part or fully fund your qualification for you there would be the following expectations:
UKCC1 (autumn 2008)
You will attend 'an introduction to coaching' session held at the club on a saturday morning in May
You will ensure that you attend the relevant child protection and first aid courses to access the coaching qualification.
You will commit to helping out with general indoor and outdoor junior coaching.
UKCC2 (autumn 2008 - this is a five weekend course and then a 6 month coaching log book)
You will attend 'an introduction to coaching' session held at the club on a saturday morning in May
You will ensure that you attend the relevant child protection and first aid courses to access the coaching qualification.
You will commit to helping out with general indoor and outdoor junior coaching.
You will commit to helping coach a West Devon age group during the spring sqaud training sessions.
Coachin gcan be extremely rewarding and is vital to the future of the club but we are looking for committed members who will put something back into the club once they have qualified rather than regard it as something extra to put ontheir CV!
If you are intersted please contact Anne Johnson by Monday 18th February.
